Congratulations to our 2012 Grads that signed early letters of intent to play collegiate baseball:

Congratulations to Jenn Reading and her family on her stellar performance at the collegiate level at Drexel University!

Jennifer Reading’s Bio and stats:

  • Jennifer Reading is a Kent Island High School Graduate who trains at our Academy when she comes home from Drexel University
  • Jenn is a junior starting first-baseman for the Drexel Dragons
  • She has been named  All-CAA, 2nd team honors

  • Led the CAA in On-Base Percentage this year (.447)
  • Was 10th in Batting Average in CAA  (.326)
  • Was 4th in Slugging Percentage  (.561)
  • Tied for 5th in Home Runs with 8
  • 2nd in walks  (27)
  • 4th in Put Outs  (320)

Drexel Records:

  • Broke the single season records for most walks with 27 (old record was 26 from 1989)
  • Tied the single season record for most home runs in one game twice with 2 vs Bucknell and JMU
  • Currently 14th All Time in RBI’s  (50)
  • Currently 4th All Time in Home Runs  (15)
  • Currently 14th All Time in Total Bases  (152)
  • Currently 4th All Time in Walks  (58)   (needs just 12 more to break the all time record)
  • Currently 10th All Time in Put Outs  (618)
  • Currently 11th All Time in Fielding Percentage  (.9771) ear

Drexel Sweeps double header from Bucknell

What a GREAT SEASON 2011 turned out to be!

  • With a great record of 56-11
  • We played exclusively with wood bats against great competition as well as, Collegiate Summer teams.
  • We went to Knoxville, TN and WON our Pool at the NABF High School World Series in Knoxville, TN.
  • We played at the University of Tennesee, and went 4-2.
  • We had 9 Maryland Players make the all tournament team!
  • We will do it again in 2012!

CONGRATULATIONS!

  • Sam Meisenberg (C) and Tyler Wiseman (3B) for being selected to the NABF All Tournament team
  • Kenny Steele (CF) for being recruited by Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College
  • James Kaplanges (P,SS,OF) for receiving the Commissioner’s Award, the Tournament MVP in our wood bat League
  • Christopher Van Riper for being named the Team Iron Man Award. Chris went 10-1 on the mound and had a great season at the plate
  • Christian Marciano for earning his first Win of the season against the 18U Monarchs and he was only 14 yrs old!
  • Justin Hampton for being the Team  Unsung Hero. Justin went 4-1 on the mound, played solid CF, SS and 2B all season long
  • Brian Mountain for being recruited by Anne Arundel Community College. Good Luck B!

  • The Fall Thunderkings had a fantastic fall season thanks to the players, families and coaches that continue to support our programs
